Meet Ms. Elizabeth

MIss Elizabeth headshot.png

Elizabeth Schlegel-MacKenzie was born in Kitchener and grew up in Palmerston prior to embarking on a successful career in the world of fashion that has taken her around the world. She is an artist and entrepreneur who is no stranger to the world of dance, having studied ballet as a child at the Harriston School of Dance and on through to adulthood at various recognized academies. Elizabeth trained in the RAD and Cecchetti syllabus and has studied ballet with the Black Walnut Dance Company in Kitchener, Contemporary, Pointe Intensive and Jazz at Alma College in St. Thomas, ON, and the summer dance program at Victoria, British Columbia.

After settling in Toronto in the 1990s, Elizabeth joined the In Studio program at the National Ballet of Canada, the RAD adult program at Toronto’s Avenue Road School of Dance and later the Stretch and Yoga at Elevation Dance School, Toronto. More recently, Elizabeth has returned to her roots in southern Ontario and while maintaining her Toronto-based fashion and acting career, she runs her own business as curator of a home décor and gift merchandise. Her storefront in the village of Neustadt also includes her art studio where her own works are showcased. Fluent in French, Elizabeth has supplementary teaching experience with area public schools and a Waldorf-philosophy private school in Grey County.

Elizabeth is delighted to be returning to her dance roots in Minto and sharing her experience and passion for the art of dance with MDA students, youth and adult alike.
