Maya is no stranger to MDA; she began dancing here when she was just 5 years old.   Over the years, she has developed a strong passion for dance and has trained in a wide variety of styles, including ballet, commercial, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, and pointe.

Maya enjoys every genre she studies; however, ballet and contemporary hold a special place in her heart. She loves the artistry, discipline, and storytelling that these styles allow her to explore.

Maya has been a teacher helper at MDA for the past 4 dance seasons and recently completed the Junior Teacher Course with Performance Arts Educators of Canada. She is excited for this opportunity to share her love and passion of dance with the next generation of dancers at MDA.

In 2025, Maya had the opportunity to perform with the Ballet Jörgen in The Nutcracker; A Canadian Tradition, further developing her ballet dance technique, stage presence, and performance skills.

Outside of the studio, Maya is a student at Norwell District Secondary School and enjoys participating in theatre, where she continues to develop her performance skills and express her creativity on stage. Maya performed with Theatre Norwell in its production of Matilda the Musical, as the acrobat in the Spring of 2026 , providing valuable experience bringing a beloved story to life on stage.
